The # 1 thing I recommend doing is staying at the four seasons hotel. Kidding! Well kinda.. FYI, this was a total accident!! We traveled from San Antonio for the night to Austin and there were NO HOTELS! (I told J to book one in advance and he never listens to me) We even tried to stay at the red roof inn or a sketchy motel and even they were booked up. They were booked on the outskirts of Austin almost to San Antonio due to it being the first Texas Long Horns football game + it was Labor Day weekend! Which we totally didn’t pay attention to when looking at these dates to go to Austin. We ended up using all our points on American Express to stay at the Four Seasons because they had 1 room left and Jarrett had the exact number of points! I’ll let you know that it was amazing but deff way out of a normal budget! Lol but it’s a good story to tell! We got to see a NFL football player which was pretty cool. But If I’m being honest, I was pretty disappointed they didn’t offer complimentary coffee. I came down from my room at 0900 and they said complimentary coffee ended at 0800. Like what!? GIMMEE all the LaQuinta Inns with the complimentary breakfast!
We ate at Way South Philly in Austin and it was so yummy! I 10/10 recommend stopping by if your in Austin! It literally looks like a hole in the wall type place but it was so good that Jarrett talks about driving back to Austin just to eat there again! He has literally been trying phillys for the past year trying to find somewhere that compares and it just doesn’t!
We talked to the owner and he stated that he originally lived in Philly and on a whim moved to Austin! When I say it was the best philly cheese steak I have eaten..It was the BEST!
Truthfully though, our favorite thing about this weekend was renting a boat at Canyon Lake in San Antonio! We had the best time.
They have a restaurant on the water that you can park your boat at and that was really one of the highlights of our time on Canyon Lake!
We also visited the Lake in Austin by going to a restaurant on the water but truthfully didn’t eat there because it was a 3 hour wait! Like come on, I get hangry! But the view was amazing! The restaurant is called the Oasis on Lake Travis but like I said I can’t recommend it because I didn’t really eat there lol! But I do recommend going to see the view.
One of my favorite spots we went to in San Antonio is the oh so popular San Antonio river walk! It is one of the cutest places in San Antonio that makes you feel like your in Paris or somewhere over seas! I love it! I deff recommend going if you’ve never been!
